After last night's maintenance moving to a new database node, as well as the work done this week prior to the maintenance, we're comfortable with marking this issue as resolved. Please report any additional connectivity issues to hi@statuspage.io.

Monitoring
After rolling out some intermediary connection pooling and modifying application code to cut down on query volume, the infrastructure has been much more stable in the past 48 hours. As all of the intermittent connectivity issues we've been seeing have been disk I/O related, we've scheduled a maintenance period for tomorrow night to move to a more performant database node and backing store.
Yesterday, we made some application level changes and performed some maintenance/tuning on the database. The I/O spikes appear to have subsided in the meantime, and we're still continuing to monitor for any performance regressions.

Investigating
We're continuing to investigate ongoing connectivity issues to the site. This is currently manifesting as database slowness causing connections to time out. More information will be provided as it becomes available to us.
